Ok so I have a serious issue, I am so sick and tired of the same old sound when it comes to worshiping God musically. Why is it that Christian worship music seems to be so lifeless and so blah. Why is it that about 98% of everything that is being release has a similar feel?
When I think about it, it really makes me frustrated that as a church individually and corporately we have settled for music that is inferior to the music than that of the world. We should be leading the way with sounds from heaven. God is the most creatively expressive being in all creation, though he is above creation. I am convinced as worship leaders, musicians, and singers, that we are living at a place that is far from what God desires to release in our midst.
Worship music ought to be the most cutty, sharp, unique, and powerful music on the face of the planet. Worship music is powerful even as it is in its current form. I would even go far as to say that it is the most powerful kind of music on the earth because at the simple core nature, worship music changes and challenges spiritual atmosphere. It is because of the power of the Word of the Lord and the Spirit who lives inside of the worshippers.
Think about what an angel of the most high God would sound like. Think about the singing that goes on around the throne in heaven. We must as a people begin to lift our vision higher. We must set our hearts and minds upon the things (ballads, chords, melodies, and rhythms) above. The fact that many worship leaders are mimicking pop rock bands out there like u2 and coldplay is sickening. We could have so much more if we would come to God in humility and declare our need before him.
So anyways to all singers and songwriters out there. Get your inspiration from heaven where we are all seated and lets start a freaking revolution. We want kingdom music, sounds that shake the gates of hell and cause demons to tremble and flee. Amen and Amen
